Risen Energy Australia’s Vice General Manager, John Zhong recently travelled to Yarranlea Solar Farm, located near Toowoomba, to meet with Pat Weir MP, State Member for Condamine, the electorate in which the facility is located.

Mr Weir, who took on the portfolio of Shadow Minister for Natural Resources, Mines and Energy late last year has been keen to learn more about the solar energy sector in Queensland. After meeting in Parliament House earlier this year, John, extended the invitation of a personal tour of the solar farm to Mr Weir.

On the day of the visit, John and Mr Weir discussed the complexities of building, operating and commissioning solar farms in the sunshine state as well as demonstrating the functionalities of the hardware on site. Operations and Maintenance Manager Stephen Brass and Yarranlea Site Operations Lead Steve Baker were also on hand to answer technical questions.

Risen is confident Mr Weir (second from right in below image) gained valuable knowledge of Yarranlea Solar Farm and of the energy industry in general.
